Warranty & Return Information
All uninstalled parts are returnable. See
below for full rules and details. If
you purchased the wrong part, you can return it, or even better we will help you
find the correct part and send it out promptly. If
you believe the part is defective or misshipped, we will help figure out the
issue and swiftly send you a replacement part. Customer service agents are
available 5 days a week to help with all issues, feel free to
contact us with any
questions. We stand behind our parts and are here to help!
Procedure
All unused and uninstalled parts can be returned. Returns must be received by us within 30 days of
invoice date.
Please open this page (click here), complete the form and return to us. You
will lose shipping (actual shipping charges if you got free shipping - typically
$10-$20) and
there will be a Restocking Fee of 15%
($10 minimum). We do not require a return authorization
(RMA/RGA), as long as the instructions below are followed.
Returns that do not
include
the return form
are not accepted.
Please include in box. You are responsible for paying for
the return shipment and insuring the package. Please keep your tracking
information; this is your proof of return.
Returns MUST come
to our
San Diego warehouse. The
address is on the Return Form. We
ship out of numerous warehouses to get the parts to you faster, but returns are
processed through the
San Diego warehouse.
Parts returned to other warehouses will not be refunded.
Installed Parts & Warranties
Installed parts are never
returnable.
Installed is defined as any attempt at installation. Regardless of fault or reason, a
refund will not be issued. Your only option is to check if part is
under warranty.
If this is a defective issue,
please
refer to the
warranty information below. It is our policy to replace defective
parts. If you have a problem with an installed part, please check if the part is under warranty and view the complete
terms of warranty. If you return an uninstalled, wrong
or mis-shipped item, it will be treated as a standard return. Installed
parts cannot be returned for credit.
Follow-Up
All refunds are processed within 2-3 weeks of us getting the part. Refunds are automatically refunded to your credit
card. It is best to
check your credit card statement for the refund. Please do
not call to check the status of your return as we will not have the information
until it is on your credit card. If
you have not received the refund after three weeks, please
contact us with your
tracking number and credit card statement. We will need that to open
a claim.
Here is the legal version:
THE STEERING STORE (hereinafter called SS), warrants to the original purchaser, that each remanufactured auto
part sold by SS shall be free, under normal use, from any defects in
material and/or workmanship, subject to the following terms and
conditions:
DEFINITIONS: AUTO PART: As used herein, the
term auto part shall mean: a remanufactured auto part supplied by SS.
TERMS: 1. Unless otherwise noted on
original invoice, the auto part warranty term shall be the 24 months for rack and pinion
and for 12 months on steering gearboxes and pumps.
At no time shall this be for a term of less than 12 months. The warranty
is not transferable. 2. In the case of a drive axle or rack & pinion
auto part, the boot warranty term shall be 6 months from the documented
date of installation.
AUTHORIZED REPAIR: All repairs and/or
replacements covered by this warranty must be authorized by SS prior to
making any repairs. Payments will not be made for any unauthorized repairs
and/or replacements. 2.THE STEERING STORE supplied Rack and Pinion,
Steering Gear Box or power steering pump shall have a maximum limit of
$350.00 over the
life of the warranty. 3. THE STEERING STORE supplied
automatic transmissions shall have a maximum limit of $500.00 over the
life of the warranty.
STANDARDS: Subject to limitations contained
herein, SS at its option, shall repair or replace the auto part within
the warranty term subject to SS's approval, without charge to the
owner/user.
LIMITATIONS: This warranty applies only to
the auto part supplied by SS. This warranty shall not apply to, or
include any of the following: 1. Repair or replacement required as a
result of any accident, misuse, road hazard, tampering or disassembly. 2.
Any SS auto part used for competition or related purposes. 3. Any SS auto part used on an off-road or fleet vehicle. 4. Any
SS auto part which
has been repaired or remodeled by any person other than an authorized
installer, or to which any device or accessory not conforming to O.E.M.
specifications have been installed. This includes but shall not be
limited to any modification of vehicle through replacing a steering gear
box with a rack and pinion assembly 5. Any SS auto part on which the
periodic maintenance services required by the original manufacturer have
not been performed. 6. Any SS auto part failing as a result of failure to
replace a different faulty component or failure to flush power steering
system thoroughly before installation. 7. Warranty shall not apply to ANY
repairs and/or replacements not authorized by SS.
LIMITED LIABILITY: The liability of SS under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of the
defective parts. This is a parts warranty only. SS shall not be liable for any
incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any
service not expressly provided for herein, relating to or arising from SS products.
LIMITED WARRANTY: This warranty is given in
lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any warranty
of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose, on the part of SS, or the dealer installing the
SS product. No dealer, nor any agent or
employee thereof, is authorized to extend or enlarge this warranty.

rights and privileges unless otherwise noted.
